Oh man, was a long few days. And oh man is that an understatement.
It was decided last week, Thursday actually, that I would venture over to the WaFed branch next door and that would be my new home. Al, the branch Mgr, wanted me next door on Friday but my boss said Monday was best. That means they, as in WaFed, knew I was going to be there Monday. They knew this before Al walked out of the branch on Thursday, right? So one would think that things would have been started. Papers would have been sent in. I would have been changed over to WaFed's time card and pay roll system. That I would have an employee number, passwords, and so on. All of this starting Monday, right?
As Dwight from the Office would say, "WRONG!" On Monday I got the keys to the door, was told what the 'all clear' signal was, even got a key to my cash drawer. But non of the other things were there.
No one seems to know what is going on. I can't even tell you how many things I have been told and by how many people are telling me these things. It is so frustrating.
So Monday, my first day at the WaFed branch I spent my time standing around, cutting out paper tulips to put up around the branch, and trying to get as much information as I could. Can we say boring? Oh man was it ever. Tuesday, well that went the same way. When I got back from lunch I at least had an employee number. Oh, and there was an security information packet for me to read and send a signed copy to HR. When I called the HR dept, as instructed, the line was busy. I tried to call HR several times over the next hour and a half.
So today, Wednesday, I called HR as soon as we walked in and actually talked to someone. Carlos actually. He said he would get it taken care of by noon. Noon rolled around and still no call from Carlos. We had been told by the Division HR lady that all I needed to do was call and let them know I was a Legacy Horizon employee transfer and it would be set. Yeah right. So I call, tell them and am told I'm wrong. Tim from HR is conferences in, tells me the same thing and given the run around.
By this time I am more then angry, I'm pissed.
I tell Tim that I have been in the WaFed branch for 3 days now, it was decided last Thursday, I keep hearing all kinds of different information from everyone, and so on. I tell him that this is ridicules and they need to get things under control and figure out what is going on. Having an employee not able to do anything is a waste of everyone's time. He says "I was never told you were in a branch." What?!?! How could that be??? He was going to make some phone calls and call me back in one hour.
Needles to say, after a call to Tim from my branch manager Al, I now have access to the computer and go to official training in Anacortes on Friday. Still haven't heard back from Tim.
For such a big company they need to get it together! Ugh!
