Weekend in Spokane

This past weekend Jake and I made the trek across the state to our home town of Spokane. Something I wish we could do more often by the way. We took our queen sized bed that will not fit in the new guest room with us on the back of Jake's truck. With driving slower so the mattress wouldn't fly off into traffic and me having to go pee all the time...it took us a long time to make the drive. I tried to keep track and I think we made 5 or 6 stops for the bathroom. It was a long drive.

Once we got to Spokane Jake got to go see his boys and do their Fantasy Football draft. They are such boys. And yes, I too think it is funny we had to drive across the state to do a draft for something they are going to do the rest of the season on the Internet but that's ok, I know Jake had fun.

Me not wanting to go got to spend some time with my little brother. Something that doesn't happen very often and when it does you better believe I take full advantage of. We even got to spend some time with his girl friend Caitlin that I absolutely love. How she puts up with him all the time I am not sure, but I know she loves him and we are happy she is making him so happy!

Sunday was the morning I was not really looking forward to. We were going to go to Chuck E Cheese with Jake's sister and her family along with his parents. I love hanging out with his family, so please, when you read this don't think I do. I was not looking forward to not having the energy I was going to need. Chasing after a 5 1/2 year old, almost 4 year old, and an 18 month old takes a lot of energy. I have never had a lot of energy and I really don't have any energy now. Actually I have NO energy now. But...I am happy to report I had a blast with the kids and didn't even get tired at all. I am so glad we were able to hang out with them for a few hours.

Trena and I even had the energy after Chuck E Cheese to go shopping at the clearance sale at Fred Meyer. I got some adorable outfits for the girls that will fit them next summer. So cute and some even matching! And yes, I am going to be that mother of twins that dresses their kids in matching outfits sometimes. Maybe not always the same color but the same outfit. I can't wait :O) Its going to be fun!

On Sunday my mom and I got to go shopping for scrapbook stuff. For the baby shower my mom and best friend are doing for us in Spokane, they are going to decorate a scrapbook for each girl. We got a bunch of stickers and paper for each month. We are going to do one page for each month. I know there are going to be way more pictures then will fit on 2 pages but the books are going to turn out so great. I can't wait to see them. It was fun shopping with my mommy, even though I did get a foot crap as soon as we got into the car. (Cramps have become a normal thing for me, I guess they are common in pregnancy.)

After shopping we had to head back home. Across the mountains we go. I love having weekends where we can go back home and not do anything big. Even just hanging out and Fred Meyer with Trena was a big highlight of our trip. I am very thankful we have such amazing family.

I love our trips to Spokane :O)
